The best book I have ever read is Kira-Kira. Kira-Kira is my favorite book because it is about two Japanese sisters who are very close. Their parents moved to America when the older sister was very little. During the story it talks about how the older sister gets a disease (the book did not say what it was called) and how the little sister deals with it. There are times when the older sister is well enough to go outside for a bit, but most of the time she is confined to her bed until one day when she dies. The younger sister goes to her sister's grave everyday after that for three days to take care of the grave. She only goes for three days because she had heard that after someone dies, the spirit is only in the body for three days after that. This book will make you cry though if you and your sister are very close. This book also taught me a little bit about the Japanese culture and that kira-kira means sparkles in Japanese.
